Condo Renovations Toronto Trusts
Condo renovations done the building's way
Renovating a condo or apartment is as much about logistics as construction. Famous Pro Painters renovates units right across Toronto and the GTA from our base in Etobicoke. The build itself isn't the hard part. The hard part is the elevator booking, the certificate of insurance the property manager needs before anyone lifts a tool, the quiet hours, the protected common areas, and getting a bathtub out of a twelve-storey building without marking a single wall. We have done it enough times that the building side is routine.
We keep the work tidy and contained out of respect for your neighbours and the building. We protect hallways, elevators and common areas before anything moves. We plan deliveries and debris removal around the schedule the property allows, not around what's convenient for us. And we keep noisy work inside permitted hours, because the fastest way to get a condo job shut down is a neighbour complaint in week one.
A few things we won't do. We won't start a condo renovation before the paperwork is approved, however keen you're to begin, because a job halted mid-demolition is far worse than a job that started a week later. We won't tell you a wall can come down before we know whether it's structural or what the declaration says. And we won't promise a plumbing relocation until we know where the building's stack actually is. Every condo renovation is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee, finished clean and on schedule.

Common Questions
Condo renovation FAQs
How much does a condo renovation cost?
It depends on the unit size, scope, building logistics and finishes. A bathroom or kitchen refresh is modest; a full-unit renovation is larger. We provide a free, detailed quote after seeing the unit and its rules.
Do you handle building approvals and rules?
Yes, we're used to working with property management. We help prepare the documentation buildings require and plan the work around their conditions.
Can you book the service elevator and work within quiet hours?
Absolutely. We schedule deliveries, debris removal and noisy work around your building's elevator bookings and permitted hours. That keeps things smooth with neighbours and management.
Are there limits on what I can change in a condo?
Often, yes, moving plumbing, altering structure or changing flooring can be restricted by the building. We'll identify what's possible up front so there are no surprises.
How long does a condo reno take?
Most condo projects run a few weeks depending on scope, though building access and elevator scheduling can affect the timeline. We give you a realistic schedule with your quote.
Are you insured and is your work guaranteed?
Yes. We're fully licensed and insured, and most buildings require proof of insurance. Every renovation is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. You also get a written workmanship warranty.
Do you handle the paperwork my condo board requires?
We handle our side of it. We're fully licensed and insured and can supply the certificate of insurance, WSIB documentation and scope details most property managers and boards ask for before approving work. You submit the application as the owner, but we give you everything you need to fill it in and we'll speak to the property manager directly if that helps.
Can I move plumbing or take down a wall in a condo?
Sometimes, and it depends entirely on the building. Plumbing relocation is limited by where the stack sits and what the building permits. Walls may be structural or contain services, and the condo declaration may restrict changes regardless. We check all of that before proposing a layout, so nothing gets designed that can't actually be built.
How long does a condo renovation take?
A bathroom is usually two to three weeks, a kitchen three to five, a full unit refresh longer. Condo timelines run slightly longer than the equivalent house because material has to come up in a booked elevator and noisy work is restricted to permitted hours. We give you a realistic schedule in writing before we start.
Do you renovate rental and investment units?
Yes, and turnover work is a good fit for how we schedule. We can quote a full unit refresh between tenants and work to a fixed handover date, so the unit is back on the market quickly. We work on investment properties across Toronto, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Vaughan and the rest of the GTA.
Will my neighbours be affected?
Some noise is unavoidable, but managing it's part of the job. We keep loud work within permitted hours, seal the unit so dust doesn't travel through corridors or the ventilation system, and clean common areas daily. In our experience the buildings that go smoothly are the ones where the crew is considerate from day one.
Do you renovate apartments as well as condos?
Yes. Rental apartments, co-ops and purpose-built units across Toronto and the GTA. The constraints are much the same as a condo: building access, elevator scheduling, restricted hours and shared corridors that have to be protected and cleaned daily.
Can you renovate while I keep living in the unit?
For smaller scopes, often yes. A single bathroom or a flooring replacement can usually be phased so you keep a working kitchen and somewhere to sleep. For a full gut it's genuinely easier on everyone if the unit is empty, and we'll tell you honestly which one your project is.
What does a condo kitchen or bathroom renovation cost?
It depends on the size of the unit, the finishes you pick, and how much plumbing and electrical has to move. Condo work carries some cost a house doesn't: elevator booking, protecting common areas, and restricted working hours. Every quote is free, itemized and based on seeing the unit.
Do you work in buildings with strict elevator and move-in rules?
That's most of them, and it's normal for us. We book the service elevator, protect it and the corridor, schedule deliveries into the window the building gives us, and haul debris out the same way. Buildings that are strict about it usually end up being the easiest to work in, because everybody knows the rules up front.
Will you handle permits for a condo renovation?
Where the work needs one, yes. Plenty of condo jobs don't, but moving plumbing, altering anything structural or changing electrical often does, and the building will usually want to see it too. We pull the permits ourselves and deal with the inspections, so you're not chasing paperwork between your board and the city.
